I finally succumbed to the wonder that is Moo. These postcards arrived today and I LOVE THEM! It will be most handy to have a postcard of Meg available to send at any time. I got six each of Meg with the book (which, incidentally, is Paradise by A L Kennedy), six of Meg up close, three of Meg and Meg (Meg with Haggis's guitar, also called Meg), and one each of the others.
Further news: I can now play ONE AND A HALF PAGES of my piano song. I'm so great.
This is Meg, lying beside me as I work in my shed.
Yesterday morning I woke up early, got up, fed Meg, then I lay on the couch with a cover over me, and after Meg had her breakfast she came and lay beside me, curled up in my belly.
I've been having a rough time lately - all self-inflicted. I got into a habit of worrying about whatever my brain could latch onto to worry about. So, I am now making a conscious decision to not worry. It's pointless, and counter-productive, and it affects my family.
This post is really to make the point that I'm hugely grateful for Hagos's and Meg's friendship (in their different ways!).
Also helping, is playing the piano. I've mastered another bar of The Piano, and am practising the first bar at the top of page 2. It sounds beautiful, and impressive (which is always important).
I really felt like knitting a very small thing yesterday so I found some cotton 4-ply and knitted this shoe. It's all done in one piece. I'll probably go with the cat face buttons.
I've been so sleepy and relaxed the last couple of days. I think it's the result of being super busy in November and December, along with a bit of worrying, and now it's all fallen away and I'm allowing myself to rest. I've been sleeping a lot, and reading, and knitting and watching films and Voyager and Tom and Jerry, and eating popcorn.
These are the lovely winter cards I bought off Tiny Happy last month. I really like her nature drawings, and the embroidery she does from them. I particularly like the white paint on brown card. And this is me playing the piano. I'm so enjoying the challenge of playing it. I still haven't gone back to basics to learn properly. I prefer to jump in at the deep end and attempt a piece of music that I love and that is difficult. I like a challenge. And I'm convinced that with determination and application I will succeed (this belief should be applied to all challenges!).
I love Saturdays.
